Dr. Robert Narins, who has served with great distinction as the ASNs first Director of Postgraduate Education, has decided to step down from this position on December 31, 2004. Because his will be difficult shoes to fill, the ASN is grateful for a relatively lengthy recruitment period. The Society has therefore initiated a search for his replacement. The search committee, chaired by Dr. Tomas Berl, also includes Drs. Roland Blantz, William Henrich, Mohamed Sayegh, and Ronald Falk.
ASN members with an interest in this position are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant must be a Board-Certified nephrologist who has been active in the practice of the specialty and who has distinguished him/herself as an educator. Prior experience in medical education as well as in the design and delivery of educational programs are essential, as are demonstrated administrative and leadership abilities. Key responsibilities will include the development and marketing of educational programs, as well as interactions with the Societys professional staff, leadership, corporate sponsors, and general membership.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and the application form (available on the ASN web site, www.asn-online.org) to PGE SEARCH COMMITTEE by July 15, 2003 (E-mail: kcampbell@asn-online.org; mailed applications should be sent to ASN Headquarters, 1725 I Street, NW; Suite 510; Washington, DC 20006).
