Cover image

On the cover: Disruption of microRNAs (miRNAs) in collecting ducts (CD) induces severe renal fibrosis. The left panel shows that CD-specific inactivation of Dicer, a key component of the miRNA biogenesis pathway, reduces the median survival of mice to only six months. The right panel shows that kidneys from aged CD-specific Dicer knockout mice were small and atrophic indicating kidney fibrosis. Vishal Patel and Matanel Yheskel, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas
